JOHN AGUIAR

John Aguiar is a Konkani poet, writer, media person and lyricist whose songs have been broadcast over the All India Radio network specially in Goa and on CDs.

SYNOPSIS

• Remained employed with Department of Information & Publicity, Government of Goa in the capacity of Information Assistant, Assistant Information Officer and Information Officer/Public Relations officer till June 2020. Looked after Advt./Admn./Publicity.

• Viva carnival song written was chosen as ’Carnival anthem’ in 2012.

• Served as Public Relations officer of Goa Police from June 13, 2011 till December 8, 2017.

• Studied one year law at Salgaoncar Law college, Miramar 1987.

• Authored 7 books six in Konkani and one in English.

ROLE:

• Responsible for preparing and dissemination of content to promote the Government policies programmes and the schemes for the welfare of the public especially weaker sections.

• As Home Guard Company Commander looked after deployment of staff of Panaji division for duties including VVIP bandobast duties, elections, new year, Christmas, Old Goa exposition, IFFI duties etc:-

• Attended Disaster management courses at National Civil Defence College and also conducted lectures and demonstration on emergency rescue methods for NCC cadets for past several years and school students.

• As PRO of Goa Police managed the press and maintained a cordial relations between the press and the Police department. Has also worked as PRO of my parent department i.e. Information & Publicity.

• While on deputation to the office of Chief Electoral Officer as a Media Officer had managed the press, organised press briefings and issued authority letters to media persons to facilitate media coverage of the elections.
